Council Member 1st Ward Alexa Arce

 

Council member 1st Ward Alexa C. Arce has lived in Kearny since 1983. She has served as a 1st Ward Council Member since January 2004. She is a Graduate of St. Cecilia’s Grammar School and Kearny High School. Graduate of Berkeley College of Business with an Associate Degree in Office Administration. Graduate of Pace University with a Bachelor Degree in Human Relations/ Applied Psychology.

Alexa is the Chairperson for the Transportation. She is on the Police, Water, and Recreation Committees. She is the current council liaison for the Planning Board.

Over the past few years Alexa has volunteered her time and raising funds for the following organizations:

March of Dimes Walk America, Project HOPE (Homebound Outreach Project for the Elderly) at Beth Israel Medical Center, Aids Walk, Making Strides – Walk for Breast and Ovarian Cancer.

Council Member 1st Ward Albino Cardoso 

Councilman Albino Cardoso has lived in Kearny’s First Ward for 28 years.  He is married with 2 sons, both educated in Kearny Public Schools.  He is employed as the Supervisor of Maintenance at R P Baking, LLC (the former Pechter’s Bakery) in Harrison, NJ. 

 
Councilman Albino Cardoso is an active and involved citizen who served as a Commissioner on Kearny’s Zoning Board of Adjustment for eight years, including five years as Vice-Chair of that Board.   He is a member of the Parish Council at St. Cecilia’s Church in Kearny and serves as President of the Portuguese Holy Family Association. 
 
Councilman Cardoso is also a member of the Portuguese Cultural Association of Kearny and a Committeeman of Kearny’s Democratic Party.
