FIREFIGHTER
The New Jersey Civil Service Commission has announced the 2010 examination for Firefighter.
1. Applicants must be citizens of the United States and reside in Hudson or Essex County as of March 31, 2010 to time of appointment.
2. Applicants must be high school or vocational high school graduates, or possess an approved high school equivalent certificate by March 31, 2010.
3. Applicants must be at least 18 but not over 35 (one is over 35 on the day after his or her 35th birthday)
4. Candidates certified from the eligible list will be required to undergo a medical and psychiatric examination administered by the hiring agency.
5. Appointees will be required to possess a driver’s license valid in New Jersey.
6. Once appointed, employees will be required to successfully complete an approved Emergency Medical Technician program and maintain certification while employed as a Firefighter
7. CPR Certification: Appointees will be required to possess a current and valid CPR Certification issued by the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.
8. Candidates must be residents of Hudson or Essex County, New Jersey as of the last date for filing applications (March 31, 2010) and as of their appointment date to a Firefighter position.
9. Last date for filing an application with the NJ Civil Service Commission is March 31, 2010. Application fee $35.00
