Building Subcode Official
 
KEARNY Civil Service exam, symbol M0078V.  Under direction of the Construction Official, has the subordinate  administrative responsibility for administering the building subcode of the State Uniform Construction Code within the jurisdiction, and inspects and/or supervises the inspection of  buildings in construction projects underway to ensure that compliance  with plans and specifications approved in accord with State Uniform Construction Code is achieved; does other related duties.   Valid NJ driver’s license and HHS license required.  35 hours per week.  Salary $69,241 with health benefit package.    Click here for description. date: 02/08/2017  
 
Municipal Court Administrator

Town Administrator 

TOWN OF KEARNY, Hudson County, NJ is seeking a qualified person to serve as full-time Administrator to manage day to day operations of the municipality and coordinate all departments for the Mayor and Town Council.  Minimum of (3) years of local government management experience in the State of New Jersey in a comparable or larger jurisdiction.  Town’s population is 41,000 and annual operating budget is $75 million.  Successful candidate must have strong organizational and communication skills and be adept at labor relations, financial management, technology and redevelopment matters.  Competitive salary and benefits.   Applicants should send a cover letter, resume, salary history and copies of current licenses to Mayor Alberto G. Minimum Qualifications:
Satisfactory completion of a training course approved by the NJ Police Training Commission.  Candidates must have a valid NJ PTC Certificate for Special Law Enforcement Officer II

Part time position in municipal library to shelve returned books, check books in/out, answer phones, help with children’s programs, special events and other related duties. Public Safety Telecommunicator Trainee

We are accepting application to keep on file for future vacancies.  The position receives and responds to telephone requests for emergency assistance, fire,  medical or other emergency services, dispatches appropriate units to response sites and other related work as required. Part time position to work 10 / 12 hour shifts for a total of 24 hours per week.  Shifts include days, nights, weekends and holidays.  One (1) year experience in dispatching emergency vehicles preferred.
