  Tax Bills for 3rd/4th Quarter 2010 and 1st/2nd Quarter 2011 will be mailed in mid-August.  The due date for 3rd quarter 2010 tax bills is September 15, 2010.  If you would like to pay your taxes in person, please note that the Tax Collector’s Office at Town Hall will be open late unt

Town of Kearny welcomes back our returning "Jersey Fresh" farmers Alstede Farms and Union Hills Farms, as well as Catrina Catering, who brings fresh mozzarella and bread to the market.  We also welcome our new vender "Orginal Delancey Street Peanut Company" who specilizes in unique dried fruits, gourmet nuts and peanut brittle.
 

Now that winter is behind us, and the snow blowers are being replaced by lawnmowers, many residents and landscapers are dressing up their gardens and curbside trees with mulch and decorative wood chips. Although it may look nice now, that big pile of mulch or red chips surrounding your trees and shrubs can do more harm than good.

A year round Recreation Department activity. The fall and winter session is located at the Kearny High School cafeteria level corridor. Spring and summer session is held at Kearny High School Stadium Track. For program information contact the Kearny Recreation Department 201-955-7984.

Kearny Health Department invites all residents to pick up a packet of information on swimming pool safety and other summer safety issues.

Make sure all pools & hot tubs are fenced in with a fence not less than 4 feet high with a self closing self laching gate not less than 52" from grade.

MOTORIZED SCOOTERS ARE CONSIDERED MOTOR VEHICLES PURSUANT TO NEW JERSEY STATUTE 39:1-1. THESE SCOOTERS ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THE SIDEWALK OR ROADWAY AT ANY TIME. PRIVATE PROPERTY USE IS PERMITTED BUT THE NEW JERSEY STATUTES THAT PERTAIN TO PRIVATE PROPERTY STILL APPLY. THOSE IN VIOLATION ARE SUBJECT TO SUMMONSES AND IMPOUNDMENT OF THE SCOOTER. VIOLATIONS CAN EFFECT AN OPERATORS DRIVERS LICENSE AND MAY RESULT IN MONETARY FINES. JUVENILES ARE ALSO SUBJECT TO SUMMONSES AND FINES WHETHER THEY HAVE A DRIVER’S LICENSE OR NOT.
