Governor Announces Filing Deadline Extended For Homestead Rebate And Senior Freeze Program Applications

TRENTON - Governor Jon S. Corzine today announced that the deadline for New Jersey’s senior and disabled homeowners to file 2008 Homestead Rebate applications has been extended to August 17, 2009. The deadline for filing a 2008 Senior Freeze (Property Tax Reimbursement) application has also been extended to August 17. The original deadline for filing 2008 applications for both programs was June 1, 2009.

Mauriello today invited residents and visitors to cool off close to home at one of 14 swimming areas opening Saturday in the state's parks, forests and recreation areas.

NJ Green Acres Program Awards Kearny $870,000 for Construction of All-Season Soccer Field

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Green Acres Program announced on March 31, 2009 that Kearny would be awarded $870,000 for the construction of an all-season soccer field at the Town's Harvey Field complex. The award consists of a $435,000 loan and a $435,000 matching grant. The new turf will allow for extended play and usage of the field. The project improvements also include new sidewalks, bleachers, lighting and signage.

Kearny Public Library Honors Dennis Triano For 31 Years of Service as Library Trustee

On Friday, November 30, 2012, Mayor Santos joined Library Director Josh Humphrey, the Library Board Trustees, including President Jennifer Cullen, Council Members Eileen Eckel and Carol Jean Doyle, and the many Friends of the Library in honoring Dennis Triano for his 31 years of service as a Library Trustee. Originally appointed by Mayor Henry Hill in 1981, Dennis is the longest serving Library Board Trustee in the State.
