Your tax bills for the 3rd and 4th quarters of calendar year 2018 and the 1st and 2nd quarters of calendar year 2019 are enclosed. The due date for the 3rd quarter tax bill is September 4, 2018. TRENTON - Governor Jon S. Corzine today announced that the deadline for New Jersey’s senior and disabled homeowners to file 2008 Homestead Rebate applications has been extended to August 17, 2009. The deadline for filing a 2008 Senior Freeze (Property Tax Reimbursement) application has also been extended to August 17. The original deadline for filing 2008 applications for both programs was June 1, 2009.
TRENTON - As New Jerseyans prepare to celebrate the unofficial start of summer, Department of Environmental Protection Acting Commissioner Mark N. Mauriello today invited residents and visitors to cool off close to home at one of 14 swimming areas opening Saturday in the state's parks, forests and recreation areas.
For the past six months I have repeatedly raised the alarm that 2011 will be a very difficult year for balancing municipal budgets throughout New Jersey. As we near the end of 2010, a perfect storm of events has made the outlook even bleaker.
The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Green Acres Program announced on March 31, 2009 that Kearny would be awarded $870,000 for the construction of an all-season soccer field at the Town's Harvey Field complex. The award consists of a $435,000 loan and a $435,000 matching grant. The new turf will allow for extended play and usage of the field. The project improvements also include new sidewalks, bleachers, lighting and signage.
The Kearny Urban Enterprise Zone sponsored Kearny television commercials that were broadcast on different channels of the Comcast Cable System from August 30th through September 26th. The commercials featured the Kearny Farmer’s Market, as well as outdoor eateries in town.

On Friday, November 30, 2012, Mayor Santos joined Library Director Josh Humphrey, the Library Board Trustees, including President Jennifer Cullen, Council Members Eileen Eckel and Carol Jean Doyle, and the many Friends of the Library in honoring Dennis Triano for his 31 years of service as a Library Trustee. Originally appointed by Mayor Henry Hill in 1981, Dennis is the longest serving Library Board Trustee in the State.
