Governor Corzine Extends Filing Deadline for 2007 Senior Freeze Program Applications for Residents Who Qualify Due to Increase in Income Limits

TRENTON – Senior and disabled residents who qualify for a 2007 property tax reimbursement because of the recent increase in income limits for the Senior Freeze (Property Tax Reimbursement) Program now have until June 1, 2009, to file applications, Governor Jon S. Corzine announced today. The original deadline for the newly eligible applicants to file their 2007 applications was March 31, 2009.

Pennies for Peace Campaign

The Kearny Public Library will join the New Jersey State Library, the New Jersey Library Association and libraries throughout the state to honor the legacy of Abraham Lincoln by participating in the Pennies for Peace Campaign during the month of February. NJ Green Acres Program Awards Kearny $870,000 for Construction of All-Season Soccer Field

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Green Acres Program announced on March 31, 2009 that Kearny would be awarded $870,000 for the construction of an all-season soccer field at the Town's Harvey Field complex. The award consists of a $435,000 loan and a $435,000 matching grant. The new turf will allow for extended play and usage of the field. The project improvements also include new sidewalks, bleachers, lighting and signage.
