On Saturday, December 12, 2015, after making his list and checking it twice, Santa made an early visit to town. After being escorted along Kearny Avenue, Midland Avenue, and Davis Avenue by our Kearny Police and Fire Departments, Santa then made his way on stage at the Kearny High School Auditorium to meet and greet more than 300 children with candy canes, coloring books, crayons and a gift bag.
Kearny Holds Groundbreaking Ceremony for Off-Leash Dog Park
On Thursday, December 3, 2015 residents celebrated at the Annual Kearny UEZ Tree Lighting Festival outside Town Hall on Kearny Avenue. The festival has become a popular town-wide tradition and the kickoff of the holiday season in Kearny. The evening began at 5:30 p.m.
Kearny, NJ – On Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at the Regular Meeting of the Zoning Board of Adjustment, Mayor Alberto G. Santos and the Town Council presented proclamations to Joseph P. Slavik and Janice Barton to commemorate Joseph’s 40 and Janice’s 31 years of continued, dedicated service as members of the Zoning Board. Family and members of the Zoning Board were present to celebrate the milestones and extend heartfelt congratulations on this momentous occasion.
On Veteran’s Day, Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at 11 a.m., American Legion Post 99 held the community’s annual Veteran’s Day Ceremony at Veteran’s Memorial Park located at Kearny Avenue and Beech Street. The Kearny Police Honor Guard and members of the American Legion, VFW and Marine Corps stood at attention at the monuments. The program included words from American Legion Commander Keith McMillan and Mayor Alberto G.
