The Town of Kearny’s Uniform Crime Report Index for 2015 shows there were 1,130 reported crimes in 2015, a drop of 12% from the previous year’s number of 1,285. These numbers mean that 2015 was the Town of Kearny’s lowest crime year in the past 15 years.

Santos and the Kearny Town Council held a swearing-in ceremony at Town Hall for Kenneth Bulger, the newest Fire Captain of the Kearny Fire Department. Mayor Santos administered the oath as Captain Bulger’s wife and children proudly witnessed the ceremony and Kearny Fire Chief Steve Dyl presented the new captain his captain’s badge.

On Saturday, December 12, 2015, after making his list and checking it twice, Santa made an early visit to town. After being escorted along Kearny Avenue, Midland Avenue, and Davis Avenue by our Kearny Police and Fire Departments, Santa then made his way on stage at the Kearny High School Auditorium to meet and greet more than 300 children with candy canes, coloring books, crayons and a gift bag.
