The Town of Kearny held its 23rd annual Halloween Parade on October 31, 2010. Prior to the start of the parade, the town's Recreation Commission sponsored a children's costume contest. What follows are images that were taken by Kearny resident Barbara Goldberg.
Kearny Mayor Alberto G. Santos, Councilman Michael Landy and Members of the Recreation Commission re-dedicated the newly re-turfed main soccer field at Kearny’s Harvey Field Complex on September 23, 2010.
On September 9, 2010, Mayor Alberto G. Santos, the Town Council and the Recreation Commission formally reopened Coogan Playground in Manor Park, located in Kearny on West Bennett Avenue between Hamilton Avenue and Jefferson Street. Coogan Playground is the latest Kearny playground to be updated and modernized. The 16,400 square foot playground (0.38 acres) includes two play structures for children ages 3 to 5 and 5 to 12 years old and a swing structure with handicap accessibility.
The Kearny Urban Enterprise Zone sponsored Kearny television commercials that were broadcast on different channels of the Comcast Cable System from August 30th through September 26th. The commercials featured the Kearny Farmer’s Market, as well as outdoor eateries in town.

Kearny Mayor Alberto G. Santos, Fire Chief Stephen Dyl and Fire Commissioner Eileen Eckel are pleased to announce the re-opening of the Station 1 Firehouse at 47 Davis Avenue. Kearny’s Engine Company 1 responds to fires throughout town from this location. On March 16, 2010 Station 1 was closed due to structural and electrical issues that worsened after extensive storm water events in early March.
