July 4th Celebration

News Date:

Despite the extreme heat, one of the largest crowds in recent memory enjoyed Kearny’s 4th of July celebration. Families began arriving early in the afternoon, setting up seats in the prime viewing areas to listen to the Garden State Orchestra’s performance and to enjoy the fireworks display.

The early entertainment for children included pony rides, face painting, balloon art, a bounce house and a magician. In one of the biggest attractions provided by the Kearny Fire Department, children were instructed how to hose down a cardboard, “burning building” using a real fire hose.

As always, the evening ended with a spectacular fireworks display. Thousands of people spread out their blankets on bunny hill to enjoy the show.

Much of the entertainment was again provided through the generous support from sponsors this year. Many thanks to the businesses who contributed to our 4th of July celebration, these sponsors include: Apruzzese, McDermott, Mastro & Murphy, Cali Carting, River Terminal Development Corp., McManimon & Scotland, Spectraserv, Kearny Federal Savings, Hartz Mountain Industries Inc., Castano, Quigley, LLC, Provident Bank, Neglia Engineering, Brown & Brown Metro, Apple Food Services, Inc., Dominate Food Service, Kearny Shop Rite, Christmas Spectacular, Brady, Brady & Reilly, LLC, Ferraioli, Wielkotz, Cerullo & Cuva PA, Spectra Colors Corp. and Dubrow Management Corp.
