Santa Claus Visits Kearny

News Date:

On Saturday December 12, 2012, the Town of Kearny welcomed Santa Claus. Santa made an early visit to town and was escorted along Kearny Avenue, Midland Avenue and Davis Avenue by our Kearny Police and Fire Departments. Santa then made his way on stage at the Kearny High School Auditorium to meet and greet more than 500 children with candy canes, coloring books and crayons. Each child was also given a choice of a toy from a wide selection on stage.

Prior to Santa’s arrival, the children and their families enjoyed holiday performances by the Franklin School chorus, the Next Step Dance Studio dancers and Bob Conrad, who performed as a magician, puppeteer and ventriloquist.
The annual Santa visit and holiday celebration was organized by the Kearny Recreation Department and Kearny Recreation Commission. A fun-filled day was had by all, as evidenced by the many a smiling face in the photographs below.
