Kearny Sponsors the 24th Annual Passaic River Cleanup

The Town of Kearny held its 24th annual River Cleanup at Riverbank Park in Kearny on Saturday, April 25th.  Organized by 3rd Ward Councilwoman Carol Jean Doyle and co-sponsored by the Passaic Valley River Restoration Group, numerous volunteers showed up at the park’s Frank A. Vincent Marina to help remove litter and debris from the banks of the Passaic River. Young and old alike joined the effort. Volunteers from Pathways to Independence and the Optimist Club joined many local residents on a beautiful spring morning to participate in the annual spring clean-up. The Kearny Fire Department, the Kearny Department of Public Works, Mayor Alberto Santos and the Town Council also helped make this year’s cleanup a successful event.
