Hundreds of dogs and their owners from Kearny and neighboring communities arrived in costumes at Arlington Depot Park on a beautiful fall day for the 2nd Annual Kearny Doggie Halloween Parade & Festival sponsored by the KUEZ, K9 Corner and Bone Appetit Spa and Barkery.

The day once again featured more than a dozen informational and activity booths including a doggie photo booth at K9 Corner, airbrush dog tattoos at the Bone Appetit booth, a Pitti (Pit Bull) Kissing Booth, a visit by Snoopy hosted by the Kearny Library, puppy face painting at the West Hudson Arts and Theater Company, photos with rescue Dalmatians with the Kearny Fire Department, an interactive exhibit by the Arlington Dog & Cat Hospital, a ‘best trick’ contest hosted by the Kearny Dog Park, personalized pet portrait ornaments by new KUEZ member Plastercraft, info from the NJSPCA, Bergen County Animal Control and the new Kearny Trap Neuter and Release Program. KUEZ members Midtown Pharmacy and Holsman Physical Therapy also participated in the event.

The Bergen County Mobile Adoption Unit was also on hand, and as a result 2 dogs were able to find forever homes at the event.

But certainly the highlight of the day was the PAWrade costume contest which showcased dozens of dogs in all shapes and sizes in their best Halloween Trick or Treat looks!
