News Date:

On Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 5:30 p.m., Mayor Alberto G. Santos and the Town Council held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly renovated Veteran’s Memorial Field Sports Facility.  The completed renovations increase field availability to two (2) Little League fields with 50’/70’ field overlay flexibility, one (1) softball field, and one (1) mixed-use football and lacrosse field which overlays both the softball and 2nd Little League field.  The timely completion of the renovations ensures that the Town is able to accommodate the Spring schedules of its recreational programs which include baseball, softball, football and lacrosse. Mayor Santos explained, “Veteran’s Memorial Field was in need of updates and improvements. This project has been in the planning stage for several years and I’m extremely pleased that we are finally able to reopen the entire facility, in time for Spring. I’m sure that the athletes and their families who spend so many hours here will appreciate and enjoy the new facilities.”
