1st Annual Food Truck Festival

Kearny, NJ – On Saturday, May 21, 2016, the first ever Kearny Food Truck Festival was held at the Frank J. Vincent Marina. The event was organized by Kearny PBA Local #21 and President John Fabula and featured food items from 15 food trucks. The PBA organized the event as a fundraiser, since the group is sending 15 police officers to the Tour de Force Bike Ride 9/11 Memorial Bike Ride from the Pentagon in Washington, DC to Ground Zero in New York City this upcoming Sept. 11, the cost to send the team, the largest from Kearny, is $2,000 per officer.

Any money raised in excess of their goal will be donated to local civic associations, sports teams, scholarships and other charitable organizations in town. There were approximately 10,000 people that attended and local businesses including Bone Appetit, Fraternal Order of Eagles #22, Bixler Group, Mid-Realty, and Rosa Agency sponsored the event.  Some of the participating food truck vendors included Stella’s Empanadas & Argentine Grill, Get Fed By Ed, Angry Crab, Soda City, Cotton Candy, Korean Food Truck, No Pao, The French Quarters, Kona Ice, Bourbon Barbecue and Eat My Balls.
