Route 7 Wittpenn Bridge over Hackensack Maintenance Contract

Due to the forecasted snow this weekend, the closure scheduled for tonight, 2/05/2010 is rescheduled to 2/12/2010.
Ongoing Emergency Work requiring weekend closures (last closure was in mid-December) for repairs to the lift span bearings and to perform span balancing.
Additional closures may be required to install a new drive system.

Nature of work:
Ongoing Weekend Closures - On the Weekend of February 12th, the Contractor will perform span balancing will also work on applying Devcon material to trunnion grove bearings and sheaves bearing casings at the South Side of the West Towers. The next Weekend on February 19th the Contractor will perform another Route 7 detour and apply the Devcon Material to trunnion grove bearings and sheaves bearing casings at the South Side of the East Towers.

Description of New Traffic Pattern:
Starting Feb. 12, 2010 the contractor will continue the application of Devcon material to trunnion bearing grooves located at the southbound side of the bridge roadway. This weekend closure will start at 10:00PM Friday until 5:30AM Monday. During this period traffic will be diverted to the established detour for this contract. The above closures area detour per the TCP for this contract. Local and State Police will assist and be stationed throughout detour.

Route 7 detour - EB traffic will take Fish House Road to Pennsylvania Avenue to Central Avenue to Route 1&9T NB and returning to Route 7 at Charlotte Avenue. WB traffic will follow the same detour in reverse.
