We made progress with the cleanup effort at Alden Leeds. The areas of concern were addressed. This is no longer an active incident. The cleanup effort transitioned into a remediation phase.
The Unified command will end at approximately 6PM on Tuesday, June 11, 2019. A Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) will be in place to coordinate remaining cleanup the efforts.
Fixed air monitoring stations are being demobilized in the surrounding neighborhoods. Air monitoring will continue on site and at the property boundary while remediation is completed.
The hotline is available from 9AM until 9PM until June 24, 2019. After 9PM a recording will provide instruction. The hotline is for community members with questions or concerns. Please call 551-258-2583. Information will be provided to the caller to address their specific concerns. Also reference the Town of Kearny web site at www.kearnynj.org.
