The Town of Kearny Senior Transportation Services takes protecting the health and safety of our Senior Citizen population very seriously. Due to Covid-19 precautions we decided to temporarily limit the use of our Dial-A-Ride and bus transportation for essential emergency use only. What this means to you:
We will schedule emergency medical transportation only. Routine office exams/visits will not be scheduled. Discretion will be determined by the transportation scheduler.
Regular route bus services:
The regular bus route has been revised to better reflect emergency public health action plans based on the COVID-19 pandemic. The bus will only go to ShopRite and return back to the original pick-up. Only seniors that have emergency food/dietary needs will be transported.
You may contact any of these pharmacies for delivery:
H&B drug store # (201) 997-2010
Midtown pharmacy# (201) 991-3454
ShopRite does not deliver prescriptions and are weeks behind in food delivery.
If you need any help with food and/or prescription deliveries you can contact the Kearny Health Department at 201-997-0600, Nelly Albizu at Ext. 3500 or Fran Olenik at Ext. 3505. Additionally, Fran Olenik can be reached by cell at (201) 306-3808.
Thank you for your understanding during this COVID-19 public health emergency and please know that the transportation services may change at any time.
