The North Jersey District Water Supply Commission (NJDWSC) is currently making repairs to their 72-inch diameter aqueduct in Nutley. This aqueduct normally supplies water to Kearny’s system; however, water is temporarily being fed into the system from a different source until those repairs are completed.
While Kearny’s water remains perfectly safe, this activity is causing pressure fluctuations throughout Kearny and adjacent communities, as crews work around the clock to keep the system stabilized. Although NJDWSC have made significant progress in their repairs, we are asking residents to please continue conserving water—particularly in mornings and evenings, when peak demand creates pressure drops.
Thank you for your patience as this work continues, and we will provide updates throughout the repair.
