There have been recurring instances of noise disturbances created by blaring music from an industrial area near McCarter Highway/Route 21 and the Passaic River in the City of Newark. These noise disturbances, which primarily occur during evening and early morning hours, have affected many Kearny residents who live on the northwest side of Town. Kearny residents are asked to call the Kearny Police Department at (201) 998-1313 and the Newark Police Department at (973) 733-6000 when these disturbances occur. Since the Newark Police Department has jurisdiction on enforcement of noise and disorderly person violations at this location, we have requested their assistance in stopping these disturbances.
