Today, August 21, 2025, the Town of Kearny joins communities nationwide in recognizing National Fentanyl Prevention & Awareness Day.

Illicit fentanyl has become the deadliest drug threat in our nation, taking countless lives and leaving families forever changed. This day honors those we’ve lost, supports families affected, and raises awareness about the urgent need for prevention, education, and community action.

Tonight, Kearny Town Hall will be lit in blue as a solemn tribute and a visible reminder of our shared commitment to hope, healing, and saving lives.

We encourage all residents to take part by learning more, supporting prevention efforts, and standing with families impacted by this crisis. Together, we can build a safer, more compassionate community.
