The Department of Finance consists of three divisions as follows:
Treasury
Responsible for Municipal Budget, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Grants
Management, Debt Management, Internal Controls, Preparation of Annual Financial and Debt
Statements.

Tax Assessment
Responsible for Valuation of all properties town-wide in addition to
overseeing the tax appeal process with Hudson County Board of Taxation and New Jersey Tax
Court. Also responsible for administering the Senior/Veterans deduction program with State of
New Jersey and Disabled Veterans exemption of property taxes.

Tax Collection:
Responsible for Billing, Collection, Reporting and Enforcement of all property
taxes town-wide, including collection of levies for School District, Hudson County and Public
Library. Also, responsible for conducting annual tax sale for unpaid taxes, water and sewer
charges.
