Coordinated by Lyla De Castro Lawdanski from the Mayor’s Office, Mayor Carol Jean Doyle and the Town of Kearny , hosted an inspiring symposium on mental health, wellness, and opioid overdose education at the American Legion Post. Guest speaker Craig Jandoli delivered a powerful message on making positive choices, surrounding oneself with supportive people, and overcoming personal challenges. The symposium brought together various community stakeholders, including Councilwoman Marytrine De Castro, Councilman Gerald Ficeto, Kearny Police Department, Kearny Health Department, Kearny Prevention Coalition, Kearny-Belleville Elks, Hudson County Health and Human Services and Partners in Prevention, and ICCDAA. These organizations offered valuable resources and connections to care for individuals and families affected by substance use disorders.
