VOTE BY MAIL:
This year registered voters in the State of New Jersey will be casting their vote by paper ballot otherwise known as VOTE BY MAIL. After completing your ballot you may return your ballot by mail through the U.S. Post Office or drop the ballot off at secure drop boxes at area locations. In the Town of Kearny, the drop box is located at Town Hall, 402 Kearny Avenue. Attached is a list of drop boxes in the area. All ballots must be postmarked by or delivered to a secure drop box prior to 8:00 p.m. November 3rd.

ON ELECTION DAY:
Due to the ongoing COVID Pandemic State of Emergency, this year’s General Election is primarily a VOTE BY MAIL election. There will be a limited number of polling places in town to provide access to registered voters for certain purposes. Locations of polling places can be found at the attached map.
You will be able to drop off your VOTE BY MAIL ballot at the polling place within your voting district or if you did not receive a ballot and you believe you are registered to vote, you will be able to complete a paper provisional ballot at your polling district. A paper provisional ballot is similar to a VOTE BY MAIL ballot except that it must be verified after the election and is counted only after all of the mail-in ballots are counted.
Please remember that the COVID Pandemic continues, therefore, as with the Primary Election, voting machines will be strictly limited to those with disabilities. Most individuals who appear in person at a polling place will vote by paper provisional ballot only. In the event, an individual because of a disability is unable to complete a paper provisional ballot, then they will be assisted by an election worker to vote at the ADA accessible machine.
All polls open at 6:00 am and close at 8:00 pm.
