On Thursday, June 17, the Kearny Farmers Market will return at its customary location next to the Kearny Public Library. Shoppers will enjoy “JERSEY FRESH” produce like just picked strawberries and blueberries, honey, herbs, pickles, specialty cookies and breads.
This year, the Kearny Farmers Market welcomes a new vendor, New Jersey Beer Co., a craft brewer with a seasonal license to sell craft beer at the Kearny market. Vendors that are returning include Another Mother Fermentation, which sells pickles and hot sauces; and JR Cookie, which sells breads, pies and cookies.
Alstede Farms will again sell a wide variety of fruits and vegetables at the market. Like last year, they will also provide a curbside pick-up option for those who order online up to the day before the market on their website: www.alstedefarms.com.
“The Kearny Farmers Market has been gaining in popularity every year. We anticipate that this 16th season will be even better than before.” said Councilwoman, Susan McCurrie. Mayor Alberto Santos encouraged Kearny residents to support New Jersey Farmers by coming out and shopping at the Kearny market on Thursdays. “We are really proud of the popularity of the Kearny Farmers Market. There’s such a great assortment and freshness of fruits and vegetables, pickles, breads and now craft beer,” stated Mayor Santos.
The Kearny Farmers Market will be located on Garfield Avenue, between Kearny Avenue and Chestnut Street, adjacent to the Kearny Public Library. The market will be held every Thursday through October, from 12 Noon to 6 pm.
