Kearny, NJ – On August 6, 2019, Mayor Alberto G. Santos and Town Council Members attended National Night Out Against Crime held on Belgrove Drive near Veterans Memorial Field. The annual community-building event, hosted by the Kearny Police Department, is an effort to strengthen the relationship between the community and law enforcement.
The event was a great success for the community where town officials, local businesses and residents enjoyed food, games, entertainment and demonstrations on ways to keep the community safer. Residents had the opportunity to meet leaders and personnel from the KPD and meet and interact with neighbors, community members and local businesses, with a common goal of partnership and safety.
Many thanks to everyone who helped make National Night Out Against Crime a success including the Kearny Police Department, Kearny Fire Department, Kearny Emergency Squad, and Hudson County Sheriff’s Office. Many civic and business organizations also participated in the event: Kearny Cares, Stella’s Empanadas, Kearny Municipal Alliance, Kearny Coalition, Kearny Bank, Rotary, Woman’s Club of Arlington, Provident Bank, Kearny Elks 1050, Hudson Regional, and Endeavor House.
