Hudson Vicinage to Hold Landlord Tenant Seminars

The Hudson Vicinage will offer a series of free in-person seminars beginning Thursday, Dec. 2 to inform the public about the state of landlord tenant dockets in New Jersey and in Hudson County.

The first program will take place in the Kearny High School auditorium, 336 Devon St., Kearny on Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. Similar free seminars will take place in other municipalities in the county soon.

Assignment Judge Jeffrey R. Jablonski will discuss the efforts the courts are taking to address aging landlord/tenancy cases and the availability of programs offered by the Judiciary to assist landlords and tenants.

Following the formal program, attendees will have the opportunity to ask non case-specific questions. Comprehensive written materials will be available to advise tenants and landlords about pertinent court resources.

“The eviction moratorium is scheduled to expire on Dec. 31, and we want to ensure that all litigants who have cases pending have the full opportunity to understand the process. This initiative is part of a comprehensive plan to address growing concern about the current state of landlord tenant cases statewide, and especially in Hudson County. We hope to provide landlords and tenants alike with an opportunity to learn more about the resources available within our court system to resolve their cases,” Judge Jablonski said.
