The Mayor and Town Council of Kearny and the Kearny Recreation Commission will hold a Public Meeting for Final project design review of the Gunnell Oval Recreational Complex Redevelopment project at the Town of Kearny Town Hall Council Chambers, 402 Kearny Avenue, Kearny, New Jersey at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, February 15, 2017.
The primary objective of this project is redevelopment of the Gunnell Oval Recreational Complex as a modern artificial turf sports complex including the environmental component of an engineered cap to minimize potential exposure to historic fill materials present on-site while implementing storm water management controls that minimize the impact of frequent flooding at this complex and surrounding residential and industrial neighborhoods due to the influence of the tidal Kearny Marsh. A site plan rendering of the proposed improvements is attached for reference by the residents in advance of the public meeting.
Neglia Engineering Associates will provide a brief presentation with site plan renderings and lead discussion with Town residents to encourage questions and comments on the project design. All members of the public are invited to attend and will have an opportunity to ask questions. Representatives of the Town Council, Recreation Department and Recreation Commission are scheduled to be in attendance.
Planning Documents concerning the project area are available for review at the Town Clerk’s Office, Kearny Town Hall, 402 Kearny Avenue, Kearny, New Jersey. For information please call (201) 955-7400.
