In recognition of June being proclaimed Pride Month in Kearny, the local LGBTQI+ community, along with friends and family, gathered for a Pride flag raising ceremony at American Revolution Bicentennial Park. Councilwoman Marytrine De Castro delivered remarks and issued the proclamation on behalf of Mayor Carol Jean Doyle and the Town Council. The proclamation was presented to Kearny resident Amy Capuano, who initially requested the Pride flag be flown for Pride Month. Kearny business owner and entrepreneur Steven Kuo also spoke at the event.
