Kearny, NJ – On Sunday, July 24, 2022, Council Members Marytrine De Castro, Peter Santana and Eileen Eckel joined the Peruvian Civic Association of New Jersey (PCANJ) and President Aurora Albinagorta and Consul General Patricia Raez for the annual Peruvian Independence parade. The parade line of march stepped off in Harrison and traveled to Kearny Town Hall while participants exhibited their culture using native costumes, bands, decorative floats, and marchers from many fellow Peruvian Associations. The parade marked the 201st Anniversary of Peru’s independence and included remarks by Consul General Patricia Raez.
Mayor Santos and the Town Council extend sincere thanks to the Peruvian Civic Association and all participants and spectators for making the celebration a memorable event.
Congratulations to all the parade honorees including Grand Marshal Roberto Bustamante and Madrina Internacional Lyla De Castro Lawdanski.
