On Sunday, July 22, 2018, the Peruvian Civic Association of New Jersey (PCANJ) celebrated Peruvian Independence with their annual parade. The parade line of march stepped off in Harrison and traveled to Kearny Town Hall while participants exhibited their culture through the use of native costumes, bands, decorative floats, and marchers from many fellow Peruvian Associations. Kearny Mayor Alberto G. Santos and Council Members Susan McCurrie, Marytrine De Castro and Peter Santana joined dignitaries from Peru, members of the Peruvian Civic Association, and residents for the memorable event.
